SUSTAINABLE PROSPERITY: You're watching this video right now because it's hosted inside a job-creating data center. West Virginia is taking advantage of these economic development opportunities that will inject millions into our communities, and we've passed legislation that ensures our environment is protected while we do it. Revenue from data centers means more money for local projects, like parks and water projects- and we'll always champion projects like that!

West Virginia is growing- and thanks to the efforts of our legislature, it's happening safely and sustainably. Economic development done right.

INNOVATING AND ADVANCING: Recycling is evolving- and House Republicans passed the Advanced Recycling Act to allow and encourage our manufacturers to explore cheaper, reused materials. Cheaper materials mean more capital for jobs, and lower prices for you!

HELPING OUR COMMUNITIES: House Republicans passed HB4784, "Extending Qualified Opportunity Zones", which provides tax benefits to individuals and businesses investing in our rural communities. Opportunity zones are areas that have historically lacked investment, and we want to change that.

The bill was authored by Del. Adam Burkhammer, and he is joined by Del. Erica Moore and Del. David Cannon.

West Virginia's universities, such as Marshall and Fairmont State, have some of the best aerospace programs in the country, which is helping our growing aerospace industry in West Virginia thrive. To keep up with that growth and take full advantage of it, House Republicans introduced the Airport Infrastructure Act of 2026.

READY FOR TAKEOFF: The West Virginia House of Delegates has passed the Aerospace Growth Act, which establishes the Aerospace Industry Development Program. This new program from the Department of Commerce will be dedicated to our rapidly growing aerospace industry, which is thriving especially because of the stellar aerospace programs at our public universities, such as Marshall and Fairmont State.

Delegate Kump was a faithful public servant who's fun-loving personality will be greatly missed in the Capitol. He was a good husband, a good Delegate, and and a good friend to many. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

As Delegate Kump always signed off his emails:

"Meanwhile, and for sure and for certain, may god bless you all real good!"

WORKING FOR WEST VIRGINIA: Del. Jordan Maynor, R-Raleigh, joined by fellow bill sponsors Del. Erica Moore (R-Roane) and Del. Happy Joe Parsons (R-Jackson), talks about his bill to increase grant funding for businesses that need to develop sites to place new facilities and employ West Virginians. To compete for business with our neighboring states, we must continue to provide businesses with reasons to come here. With HB 4008, the "Business Ready Sites Program", we're doing just that.
