“I came to EIU with a dream and a work ethic,” Gaisie said. “EIU gave me the tools, mentors and platform to turn that into something bigger than I ever imagined. So many students find success at through an educational experience rooted in connection and hands-on learning.

Teutopolis graduate, Sydney Hanfland, spent her undergraduate time at EIU studying communication sciences and disorders, and says the early clinical experience helped set EIU apart when it came to her college choice. Eastern Illinois University will be testing our emergency alert system today (Monday, May 11) at 5:00 p.m.

If you are on or near campus, you may hear a lockdown message over outdoor speakers. This is only a test.

A small group will receive test messages to ensure the system is working properly, but most people will not receive additional alerts. An all-clear message will follow shortly after.
