Booth Library Located in the heart of the EIU campus, Booth Library serves students, faculty, and staff of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.

Visitors welcome; Illinois residents can obtain a library card. Booth Library, the general library of Eastern Illinois University, is named in honor of Miss Mary Josephine Booth, who served as head librarian at Eastern from 1904 to 1945. Happy Pride Month! 🌈 Let's recognize the legacy of Dr. Doug DiBianco, who inspired inclusivity at EIU while he served over 30 years as a music professor. DiBianco helped to form the first LGBTQ+ student organization on campus in 1992, now called EIU Pride. ⭐ A decade after his passing, gender-inclusive housing was established at Eastern in 2021 and named The Doug DiBianco Community in his honor!

❓ Did you know that the first professor of manga practice in the United States is an EIU alum? Kofi Bazzell-Smith is an artist and educator, now teaching at Rochester Institute of Technology. Bazzell-Smith graduated from Eastern with a bachelor's degree in fine/studio arts in 2021...and he's coming back to visit us soon!
