Therapy dogs aren’t just a special part of the patient experience—they’re part of the healthcare team! 🐾❤️

Today, one of our nursing students had the opportunity to spend some time with Bella at Summerville Medical Center during her final semester at Trident Technical College. Moments like this are a wonderful reminder that nursing care goes beyond medications, procedures, and assessments. Our students are learning to recognize the many members of the interdisciplinary team who contribute to healing—including our four-legged team members!

Bella may not wear scrubs, but she certainly knows how to make a difference. 🐶🩺❤️

Trident Technical College Alpha Delta Nu Students volunteered at the New Student Orientation this week to introduce our newest nursing students to this prestigious group.

Alpha Delta Nu is the official and only national honor society for Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) students, operated under the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN). It recognizes academic excellence, encourages continuing education, and promotes leadership and community service among nursing students.

Students may apply for provisional membership after completing their second semester. In order to qualify, students must achieve A’s and B’s in all their nursing courses and receive a recommendation from a faculty member.💡 🩺 💡

Jose Saravia is a 2nd semester student that also works at Roper St. Francis as a Patient Care Tech. He recognized how important it is for us to connect to the earth through horticulture, in order to heal and stay healthy. Excellent work Jose! We are so proud of you for taking your idea, presenting it to leadership, and developing this intervention through implementation! This is leadership in action!

If anyone is at Roper St. Francis Healthcare, check out the atrium on the 5th floor!

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is offering a more holistic treatment for neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury and spine conditions, through its new horticulture therapy program at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital.
