Thanks to William Shrader, Babyt Sexton and Appalachian Voices, we have the 1-month test results from the Pritchard DH Acid Mine Drainage spillage that occurred on April 28th, 2026.

It looks like there is more work that needs to done. Safe water shouldn't be something we need to negotiate for. It should be a right for all of us. We have to do better.

After reducing corporate income tax, phasing out business franchise tax and cutting personal income tax, we have reduced our state budget by around $1.5 billion dollars. Right to work laws have been enacted. Prevailing wage for state funded projects has been repealed. Public education is being privatized through expansion of the Hope Scholarship.

What does West Virginia have to show for all of this "unleashed capitalism?" West Virginia is the only state that is worse off now than we were in 1970. Our economy ranks last in the country.

It's time that we focus on improving the quality of life for every day hard working West Virginians. It's time that we focus on real long-term investments in our people, our public schools and our infrastructure. This is what will create an environment that will attract businesses and opportunities.

It is time for our 3rd Annual Prom for adults with disabilities. We will dance, eat and sing karaoke. There will be photo ops, professional pictures and lots of laughing. Last year, we even had a conga line! This is FREE and open to anyone who is 18+ and has a disability (and their caregiver, friend, etc). Please come out and have a great time with us. Out supporting the Mingo FC Gladiators this evening. It's important to support the youth activities that we have while we work to develop new opportunities for our kids. I understand that providing activities and opportunities for our youth is expensive but it is NOT a waste of money. It is an investment in our future.

We must invest in our public schools and the school employees who educate and support 95% of West Virginia's students.
