‼️Found Pet Scam

(Lincolnton) Lincoln County Animal Services would like to inform owners of a potential scam that is affecting pet owners in the area. Animal Services has been made aware of an individual that contacted a Lincoln County resident claiming to be Officer David Wayne. This individual claimed to have possession of a missing pet and requested money from the owner to complete a lifesaving surgery. Animal Services does not have an Officer named David Wayne. This individual was convincing and provided information such as the animal shelters address and phone number, as well as an officer’s name, badge number and case number. We recommend for anyone that has lost a pet to complete a Lost Pet Report with Lincoln County Animal Services, visit our shelter frequently to look for your missing pet, monitor County social media pages or 24 Pet Connect page for potential matches.
Animal Services recommends for anyone that has found a pet to canvas the area for a possible owner, search for visible identification tags or rabies tags, and to promptly visit Animal Services or any veterinary clinic to have the pet scanned for a microchip.
Animal Services requires all found pets to be reported to the Animal Services Department via an online Pet Report within 72 hours of finding the pet.

Its time for another Trivia Tuesday in honor of America's 250th.
The answer to the last Trivia Question was: To distinguish each other, Patriots pinned white paper to their hats, while Loyalists (Tories) tucked green twigs or pine sprigs into theirs.

Todays question: What Revolutionary War officer, a pioneer of the iron manufacturing industry in Lincoln County, and a Congressman, is buried in Lincoln County? See the picture below. Where is his grave located?

Guesses go into the comments! (Hint, the Lincoln County Historical Association and DAR Vesuvius Furnace Chapter is helping restore it!)

A few images of Beattys Ford Park Beach and the impact the current drought is having on the water levels. Despite the recent rain, the water level is too low to safely use and will remain closed until conditions improve.
Because of the Stage 2 Drought Restrictions the splash pads at Beattys Ford Park and West Lincoln Park will not open Memorial Day. Lincoln County Parks and Recreation is monitoring drought conditions with Public Utilities and will assess when the beach is safe to open, and when we can welcome families back to the splash pads.
