Druid Hills would like to welcome our new principal, Dr. Sony Anderson.

Meet and Greet Dr. Sony Anderson new Principal of Druid Hills for Parents and Students:

Dear Druid Hill Family,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to you. I am Dr. Sony Anderson, your new principal! I am extremely excited to join the Druid Hills family. To share a bit about myself, I have worked for CMS for twenty-five years. I started my career as a teacher, worked as a facilitator, Instructional Accountability Facilitator, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, MTSS Specialist, and as Director of Educational Leadership Development. I was born in Laurinburg, NC but grew up in New Jersey. I attended Johnson C. Smith University, Wingate University, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

I officially started on July 1st and I have been familiarizing myself with the staff, school building, and participated in one of many mobile food pantries. I plan to host a “Principal and Popsicles” event on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM. I can’t wait to hear from you as we craft a plan of success for our school. I am committed to you and your child(ren) in continuing the legacy of success that Principal Marshall has begun. I believe that we can make this vision a reality through collaboration. As principal, it is my goal to provide a challenging and safe learning environment that encourages students to achieve at high levels.

Communication is key, and I will work to ensure that you are informed and engaged in our school community. Thank you in advance for your partnership, and I look forward to meeting you all individually.
