Charlotte Library

Charlotte Library We have deep roots in the community and celebrate our heritage, and collaborate with other groups and individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

At the Charlotte Library, we’re creating a rich, inclusive experience for our residents and visitors by providing the very best traditional and contemporary library services, books, information and connections to the world around us. Always free and open, the only entrance requirement is interest. We represent the new face of information technology – focused on innovative life-long learning and en

lightened entertainment. We are committed to a sustainable and enduring presence in Charlotte
providing access to knowledge and the expertise of a librarian for success. We have a responsive culture, passionate about meeting our rapidly changing world and being at the center of it. Our staff tend to be generalists who know so much about so many things and naturally are well read. As we create new ways of connecting to information and building literacy in the community, we’ll foster the friendly atmosphere that welcomes toddlers, teenagers and seniors--and everyone in between. Our people empower us; the building, collections and programs enhance the work and vital role the library plays in our civilization.
“Libraries are an essential service in action, as well as an effective leveler of privilege and avenue of reinvention.”
-- Marilyn Johnson, Los Angeles Times

Get ready for summer! STEAM Saturday (June 13 from 10:30-12), a live animal presentation by Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) (June 25 at 11am) and a production of The Secret Garden by the Very Merry Theatre (July 2 at 12pm) is only the beginning of a summer of fun at the Library. July and August will be filled with music on the porch with Chris and Lisa, two visits from the Very Merry Theatre, a water and sand investigation with Project Micro, and Vermont Folklife, who will bring a large collection of musical instruments for a hands-on Instrument Petting Zoo. These events, along with Art Mondays, story time and preschool playgroup, Baby Time and Lego Saturdays will keep the Library buzzing all summer long.
