The High Rollers just got a little bigger!

The 16 House would like to welcome our newest little High Roller, a beautiful baby girl! Congratulations to Dad and the entire family on their newest addition. We couldn’t be prouder of you and couldn’t be happier for your family.

There’s nothing better than watching one of our own take on the most important job of all. We’re looking forward to watching this little girl grow up surrounded by a whole firehouse full of people who already have her back.

Today, members of Station 16, along with their families, came together to take on the Charlotte Fire Department 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

110 floors.

110 floors to remember the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

For some of our firefighters, 9/11 happened before they were even born. They never watched the towers fall, never watched the firefighters running toward the buildings, and never experienced the uncertainty that our country felt that day. But they understand what it meant, and what it still means, to our country, to the fire service, and to the way of life we all hold dear.

Today wasn’t just about climbing 110 floors. It was about remembering the brothers and sisters who didn’t make it home, honoring their families, and making sure their sacrifice is never forgotten.

Proud of the Station 16 crew and even more proud to see our families out there beside us. We climb because we remember. 🇺🇸

This week, we were proud to welcome the Charlotte Fire Department to our campus as they conducted valuable training exercises in the cottages that are slated for demolition.

Before these buildings make way for what’s next, we’re grateful they could serve one final purpose—helping firefighters sharpen their skills in realistic training scenarios that ultimately benefit our entire community.

Two alarms in Charlotte last night. Here's an early arrival view via CFD photo via Queen City News. One-story dwelling at 3831 Flowerfield Road. Heavy fire on arrival. Second alarm requested about 35 minutes into the incident.

From radio traffic, dispatched ~8:49 p.m. for B5 E16 E12 E14 L16 for 3841 Flowerfield Road, smoke odor inside a building. Upgraded to house fire seconds later and added B1 E20 R10 L20 SAF1.

Possible fire in garage, house filling up with smoke. Caller reporting husband might still be in house.

Engine 16 first-arriving with smoke showing. Working fire. Car 10 added.

Second alarm dispatched ~9:25 p.m. for B7 E32 E1 E3 L24.
Plus Rehab 1 added ~9:27 p.m.
Plus E8 added ~9:28 p.m.

Rainy Thursday afternoons can go a lot of ways.

So we decided to blow off some steam.

On our day off, we went and played laser tag together. No radios, no tones, no turnout gear. Just a little competition between the Engine crew and the Ladder crew, a lot of laughs, a lot of sweat, and some well-earned bragging rights.

The Engine came out victorious.

This job is built on 3am calls, long shifts, training, and hard days. Time outside the firehouse is just as important as time inside it. Moments like this matter. Competing a little, busting each other’s chops, grabbing a b**r together, and remembering that we genuinely enjoy being around one another.

Grateful for this crew. Rain or shine, B Shift shows up.
