Ever wanted to weld something? Change the oil in a car? Take apart a furnace to see what's actually inside it?

At NextGen Skilled Trades Day, they're bringing in simulators that let you strike a virtual weld, pop the hood and figure out an oil change, or take a furnace apart piece by piece to see how it's built. No mess, no risk, just a real feel for what these jobs are actually like.

If you've ever been curious what welders, mechanics, or HVAC techs really do all day, this is your chance to try it hands-on (sort of).

Way to grow, Albemarle County Public Schools! 🌱 The 2026 School Performance and Support Framework (SPSF) results were just released by the Virginia Department of Education - VDOE, and ACPS not only showed growth in our overall Framework Scores, but in each of the four areas of focus across elementary, middle, and high schools.

⭐ Notably, 1/3 of ACPS schools advanced to a higher Performance Category this year over last, showing the exceptional efforts made by our educators and students.
