Join for our 2026 Celebration of Fellows, an evening honoring the educators who make our schools and community stronger. 🙌🏾

A strong educator workforce should reflect the richness of the communities our schools serve. Our Fellows bring diverse backgrounds and perspectives into the classroom, expanding what students learn and who they see as mentors and leaders. Through professional development, mentorship, and financial support, AATF helps these educators grow, build lasting careers, and invest right back into our schools and communities. 🤎

We think it's kinda cool that every year, a group of African American Teaching Fellows earns their teaching licenses and joins the community-wide effort to create schools that model excellence, diversity, and student achievement.

We work with this group of educational leaders to eliminate racial disparity in our schools and prepare all students for a brighter, more collaborative future.

1. It creates a positive connection and a familiar partnership between student and teacher
2. It eases anxiety and builds mental safety with the students

Before you go ahead and buy any more bins, plan out how you'll move around! 📚

When you have a well-arranged classroom layout, you'll have solved about half of your behavior management problems before they even occur.

Before Day 1 comes, implement these three simple adjustments:

🔹 Create a Pencil Station: position it away from your primary area of teaching in order to avoid disruptions and distractions

🔹 Have an Inbox/Outbox Container: have one central location for collecting the paper so that it won't be lost on your desk.

🔹 Student Material Hubs: group the supplies by table rather than having them at each individual desk in order to speed up the transitions.

Whatever part of the classroom has the most traffic, make it organized.
