This year, we’re thrilled to collaborate once again with Hanes through their Hanes For Good: Give Back With Us initiative!

Pictured here is our resident Mr. Super Duper Fly, Jamey Rush, Day Shelter Manager — proving that a fresh Hanes tee can have you looking and feeling tight! 😎

A big thank you to for helping us ensure our neighbors feel comfortable, confident, and stylish! ❤️

“I love the warm colors, especially in the living room space -- the Terracotta color palette is really nice -- very soothing.” Ashley, a Haven guest

We’ve loving the positive guest feedback after our first major refresh of the Day Shelter space since 2010 – all thanks to Building Goodness Foundation, UVA Facilities Management, and a slew of industry partners and volunteers 🛠️ . After years of heavy use, we needed some help to keep our Day Shelter safe, functional, and welcoming for guests. Work included new industrial-grade epoxy flooring, bathroom fixtures, fresh paint, and a highly anticipated water station.

See before and after photos and learn more about how it all happened at the link in our bio.

Huge thanks to Barton Malow, Moore's Electric, Perkins & Will, and DMA Floors for donating time and labor. Funding from First Presbyterian Church, Perry Foundation, Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, and C’Ville Builds Fund made this long awaited project a reality! Photos taken by Adam Barber.

Volunteer Appreciation Week = our favorite week of the year (no offense to the others). 🎉

To the folks who show up before the sun’s up, serve warm meals with even warmer smiles, sort donations until you can’t tell socks from scarves, and somehow make all the magic happen - thank you for being the heartbeat of The Haven! ✨

Last year alone, our incredible volunteers gave nearly 7,000 hours of their time. At Virginia’s estimated volunteer rate (about $34.74/hour), that’s over $243,000 in labor and love. Not that we’re counting… but wow. 🙌

We see you. We appreciate you. We’d be lost without you. We love you. ❤️
