On Tuesday, our high school students had the opportunity to hear a powerful and deeply personal message from Chris Sandy as part of our Choices Matter convocation.

Chris shared his real life experience of making the choice to drink and drive, a choice that resulted in a devastating accident and the loss of two lives. His story was one of regret and the lasting consequences of a single decision. What happened that night didn’t just change Chris’s life; it forever changed the lives of the family of the individuals who lost theirs.

His message was a powerful reminder that our choices have consequences, and sometimes, one poor decision can alter the course of many lives, not just our own.

To close the convocation, Chris invited our juniors and seniors to experience impairment goggles and a driving simulator. The activities gave students a hands-on look at just how significantly alcohol can affect judgment, coordination, reaction time, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle.

We’re grateful to Chris for being willing to share such a difficult part of his story with our students in hopes that they will learn from his choices and make different ones themselves.

We love seeing our students discover what they’re capable of through meaningful, real-world experiences!

Connor Cook’s story is a great example of the impact career-connected learning can have. These opportunities give students the chance to build skills, gain confidence, explore their interests, and begin imagining what their future could look like.

We’re proud of Connor and our other students who are stepping outside the classroom, trying new things, and discovering their own paths. We’re also incredibly grateful for the community partners who help make these experiences possible for Eastern Hancock students.

We’re proud to support our EH Performing Arts and the incredible opportunities they provide for our students!

The band is raising funds to help cover much needed repairs and replacements for some of their larger, more expensive instruments. These instruments are an important part of keeping our band program strong and giving our students the tools they need to succeed.

🎶 I've got a golden ticket… I've got a golden twinkle in my eye…

BREAKING NEWS FROM CENTRAL OFFICE: 5 Golden Tickets were hidden in a sea of goodie bags on the first teacher day of the school year.

Staff searched. Bags were rummaged. Suspicion was high. 😂

And now, our first winner has come forward. Mrs. Ga***rd, of High School Math, has found and redeemed her Royal Golden Ticket. Somewhere out there, four more Golden Tickets are waiting to be redeemed. Who will be next?

No chocolate factory required. No Oompa Loompas involved. Just a little first-day-of-school fun and a Golden Ticket worth getting excited about! 💙

Small contributions can make a BIG impact.

Eastern Hancock is incredibly grateful to Keystone Cooperative and their Propane with Purpose initiative for helping make a difference for our students and families!

Through this program, Keystone contributes $0.50 from every propane delivery stop toward reducing school lunch debt in rural communities. This year, 34 school corporations were selected to receive a combined $177,450 in funding and we are so thankful that Eastern Hancock is one of them!

Programs like Propane with Purpose are a wonderful example of what can happen when businesses invest back into the communities they serve. Every delivery, every contribution and every dollar adds up to make a meaningful difference for students.

A huge THANK YOU to Keystone Cooperative for supporting our Royals and helping ensure our students can focus on what matters most — learning, growing and succeeding. 💙🤍

Learning beyond the classroom! 💙🤍

Our EH Connect students recently got a firsthand look at what project based learning is all about!

Students were challenged to design an official EH Connect logo, create merchandise featuring their design, and then present their complete concept to a panel of judges. Along the way, they had to collaborate, problem solve, make design decisions, explain the thinking behind their choices, and confidently present their work.

And that is what EH Connect is all about, making learning meaningful by connecting what happens in the classroom to interests, real world experiences, and authentic challenges. 🙌

It was also a pretty great example of our four pillars in action: JOY in creating, CONNECTION through collaboration, GROWTH through trying something new and presenting their ideas, and SUCCESS in taking a concept from an idea to a finished product. 💙

We can't wait to see which design becomes the new face of EH Connect!

Our 6th & 7th graders are taking Marine Biology to new depths!

Last week, Mrs Shaw's Marine Biology students got some hands-on experience as they learned about how submersibles work and then put them to the test in the water!

Instead of just reading about the science behind underwater exploration, students were able to see it in action and get a better understanding of how submersibles operate beneath the surface

This is the kind of science we love to see, hands-on and a whole lot of learning!

STAFF UNDERGROUND DRESS UP DAY: CHRISTMAS EDITION🎅

It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here yesterday!

Our staff secretly traded their back to school wardrobes for a little holiday cheer! Festive shirts and Christmas colors brought plenty of Christmas spirit, the halls were feeling a whole lot more December than August. ❤️💚

Our MS/HS staff kicked off their new Thursday Theme Days by dressing like Terry Stephens and they absolutely understood the assignment! 💙🤍

We can’t wait to see what next Thursday brings!
