Last week, we took possession of our new medical response unit. This vehicle, MED-183, will be going into service in the coming weeks and will replace our 2001 EMS vehicle.

With about 60% of our call volume being EMS calls, our medical response unit is our busiest apparatus. This is a huge asset to our community as it quickly gets our paramedics and EMTs to medical calls quickly and efficiently to provide life saving treatment.

Last nights weekly drill was a tour of the Charlton Historical Society’s schoolhouse and museum buildings. We try to do a few building tours each year so that we can update pre-plans on buildings within our district and allow our personnel to familiarize themselves with a building before we have an emergency at that location. Thank you to the Charlton Historical Society for accommodating us and providing the tour!

May 17th through 23rd has been recognized as EMS Week in Saratoga County.

Charlton Fire would like to recognize our members who are not only firefighters, but also hold EMT and paramedic certifications. These individuals respond to medical emergencies and provide lifesaving care prior to ambulance arrival. If you see them around, be sure to thank them!

Last nights training was hydrant and pump operations. Firefighters worked to secure water supply while pumping water to a hose line and deck gun. Training like this is critical in ensuring firefighters can quickly get water on a fire.

Road Closure Notification

Cherry Lane will be closed in front of the water tower today and tomorrow from 8am to approximately 5pm while hose testing is conducted for the Charlton, West Charlton and Harmony Corners Fire Departments.

Cherry Lane cul-de-sac can still be accessed via Crawford Drive.
