The Chassell Recreation Club will be holding its annual meeting on Thursday, September 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. at the Chassell Fire Hall. The Chassell Recreation Club is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization that oversees the grooming and care of the Chassell Classic Ski Trails and bicycle skills park, as well as providing support for Misslitz Field. If you take out a membership for the Chassell Trails through Michigan Tech, you are a voting member of the Club. Taking out a membership helps support the cost of gas, oil, and equipment maintenance and repairs which were significant last season. An individual membership costs $20 and a family membership costs $25. There is only one vote per family membership. The current board is made up of Keith Meyers who serves as President and Secretary, Brian Waters who serves as Treasurer, Lynn Gierke, Steve Spahn, and Carol Moore. If you would be interested in becoming a board member, nominations and voting will take place at the annual meeting. The board can have up to seven members. Interested individuals are welcome to attend!

The township has purchased an Asset Managment Program. As part of gathering information for the plan you may see township workers taking measurements or pictures near or around your property. The information we are gathering is very important for documenting our assets such as the water, sewer and storm distribution systems in the township. Part of the documention will help us create an inventory of our assets and build a maintenance history to provide long term budgeting. Thank you for your patience while we work on this project during the upcoming years.
