Repair crews are on scene and repairs are in progress. Water service will be restored as soon as repairs have been completed.

In observance of Juneteenth, Borough Hall will be Closed Friday, June 19th. We will reopen Monday, June 22nd at 8:00am.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. Originating in Galveston, Texas, in 1865, the observance of June 19 as African American Emancipation Day has spread throughout the United States and beyond, becoming a celebration of freedom, resilience, and African American history and culture.

We extend our deepest condolences to the McGookin family on the heartbreaking and untimely loss of their beloved son, Callum. Chatham Borough Police Department has attached Gold Ribbons to their police vehicles in support of the McGookin family.
A Celebration of Life honoring Callum will be held at Chatham Middle School on June 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where family, friends, and community members may gather to remember and celebrate the life he lived and the impact he made on so many.

📣REMINDER FOR ALL RESIDENTS:

§ 267-12 Annual water restrictions.
(1) Outdoor use for lawn, garden, shrub, and any other vegetation watering, car and any other mobile equipment washing, and washing of driveways, sidewalks, buildings and equipment shall be restricted to alternate days, with usage allowed on even-numbered days for those residents or businesses whose dwelling, building or box number are even and on odd-numbered days for those residents or businesses whose dwelling, building or box number are odd. There shall be no such outdoor water usage on the 31st day of any month.
(2) Watering of lawns, gardens, shrubs and other vegetation shall be restricted to the hours from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Beginning the week of June 15, curb installation work is scheduled on Fairmount Avenue between the Railroad Bridge and Watchung Avenue. Work is expected to last approximately two weeks (weather permitting).

• No on-street parking during work hours
• Remove vehicles by 7:00 AM each workday
• Limited driveway access may occur
• Garbage and recycling collection will continue as normal (place curbside by 6:00 AM)
