It is a real honor to be here today as we dedicate this pavilion in recognition of someone I had the privilege of working with—our former Highway Superintendent, Joe Rickert.
During the time I worked with Joe, I came to appreciate not only his dedication to his job, but also his genuine commitment to our community. Joe understood that public service was about more than maintaining roads and getting the work done. It was about taking pride in the place we all call home, looking out for our neighbors, and doing the job to the best of your ability.
Joe gave many years of his life to serving this community, and the work he did made a real difference in the everyday lives of the people who live here. His dedication and commitment to the community deserve recognition and celebration.
This pavilion is a fitting and lasting tribute to Joe’s years of service and to the positive impact he has had on our community. I hope it becomes a place where families gather, friends come together, celebrations are shared, and new memories are created for many years to come.
Places like this remind us that a community is built not only by the structures we create, but by the people who dedicate their time, energy, and heart to making it a better place. Joe is one of those people.
I am grateful that I had the opportunity to work alongside Joe, and I am proud to be here today to recognize his service, his dedication, and his lasting contribution to our community.
Joe, thank you for all the years you have given to this community and for the difference you have made.
May this pavilion be enjoyed by our community for many years to come, and may it serve as a lasting recognition of your dedication and service.
Thank you.
Donal Collins, Supervisor
