Pittsylvania County 4-H, VA 4-H 4-H has lots to offer the youth of Pittsylvania County! Call our office at (434)432-7770 to learn more about the great opportunities within our clubs!

Pittsylvania 4-H Clubs range from livestock, to horse, to shooting sports. We also partner with several schools in the county to offer co-curricular in-school, and after school, programs that build upon the the SOL's. Call the extension office today to find out how you can be come involved!

Another 4-H Teens in Action alum to celebrate today!!

Emma Dowdy finished her Bachelor’s of Science in psychology with a concentration in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience at George Mason. She will be working at the National Institute of Health as a post-baccalaureate researcher starting this summer.

It's our version of "Opening Day!" Registation for 4-H Baseball Camp is NOW OPEN!

4-H Baseball Camp was such a "hit" last year, that we're offering it again this summer and doing so with a larger partnership with the Danville Otterbots!

Rotate through skill stations, apply STEM themes to the game, learn about careers within the sport, and build athleticism and teamwork with us!

When: July 15-16, 2026 from 9am-noon + a bonus night at the ballpark on Friday, July 17th!

For: Youth ages 6-10 as of June 30, 2026

Where: Diamond Fever Sports Complex in Ringgold

Cost: $50/camper

Congratulation to Abby Eades, former 4-H Public Speaking participant, Teens in Action club member, and recent graduate from Virginia Tech!

Abby received a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics and this week she is starting her MS in Nutrition and Dietetics program to become a Registered Dietitian, specifically in human performance and sports nutrition.

Congratulations to Lizzie McAdams, a former 4-H Camper and Teens In Action club member!

Lizzie obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech over the weekend! She majored in Food Science and Technology and minored in Psychology. Her plan is to start working in the food industry and then go back to school for her Masters in Food Science.

During her first year of 4-H camp, she was oh so homesick. The simple gesture of a volunteer offering her a teddy bear helped her make it through the entire week. She has since graduated from camper to Teen Leader, then graduated high school, became an Adult Volunteer, and as of today, has graduated college!

Congratulations to Megan Gammon who earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with an emphasis on Public Relations from Longwood University today. In just a few weeks, she will begin her job at UVA in the External Relations department as an Advancement Associate.

We’re so proud of our 4-H alumni who are doing amazing things.

Please join us in congratulating Carter Powell! He obtained his Bachelor’s of Science today in meteorology from Virginia Tech!

Carter served as a camper, CIT, and Teen Leader, and is a current Adult Volunteer with Pittsylvania County 4-H.

Way to go, Carter! Your academic and personal achievements are so inspiring!

We had such a great time today at Heritage Academy learning about agriculture from the Blue Ridge region of Virginia! Melody Divers of Chapel Creek Farms in Montvale came to share about their cattle and cider production. Students got to sample beef tallow lotion and Melody also brought some homemade sloppy joe to sample. It was made with their own beef and was delicious!
