Have you seen coyotes lately or heard them calling? Coyotes mate in February and March, giving birth to pups in April and May. Pups are raised by the entire coyote community, so they're likely to stay closer to their dens right after the babies are born.

Bonus fun fact: Coyotes are monogamous and mate for life!

Flying through the air
Is a small chickadee
Feathers all a-flutter
Calling “hey, sweetie!”

The fox looks up
From her afternoon prowl
When the sun goes down
She barks and howls

Join CLC on a winter wander on the Nature Quest trail at Borden’s Pond Conservation Area and learn about the animals that live there on Saturday January 28 at 11 a.m.
