YesterValley ⏰ - Before the advent of digital photography, everyone captured their memories on film, and film needs to be processed. In the 1960’s, small drive-thru stands (Fotomat) began popping up on roadsides and parking lots across the United States to provide photofinishing service in a fast and convenient manner.

Here, you could drop off film for development and pick up your glossy photos the very next day. What started as 1 store in 1965, bloomed to almost four thousand of these golden roofs across America by 1980. Shortly after though, it would all fall apart in spectacular fashion.

Today you can still find some of them being repurposed from selling ci******es to making keys.

Totally Valley! The 210 Foothill Freeway name is a reference to Foothill Boulevard and the San Gabriel Mountains, both of which the freeway runs parallel to for most of its length. Construction began in 1958. The section of freeway in Sylmar that was intended to open first was damaged by the 1971 Sylmar Earthquake, and the opening was delayed until repairs could be completed in 1973.

The freeway extends from Sylmar to Redlands and into Pasadena for a total of 86 miles.

The 210 Freeway was also extensively used for filming of the hit series “CHiPS” along with the 118 Freeway since they were both still under construction. The scene in the video is a car chase near the Paxton exit and 118 interchange. 🚨: CHP West Valley
