The Chattanooga Rescue Mission

The Chattanooga Rescue Mission A home for the homeless. Since 1975, the Chattanooga Rescue Mission has provided an emergency shelter for the homeless. We are a Christian-based outreach.

Purpose
First Peter 5:7 says “Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.” From this verse, we derive our statement of purpose: To Bring Hope to the Homeless. Mission Statement
To show the love of Christ to the needy in our area by providing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Our Ministry
To reach people whom others would consider unreachable. We are dedicated to ministerin

g to the needs of the homeless and transient population in our area. Our shelter guests are treated with love, kindness, respect, and compassion. All our shelter guests are provided warm meals, showers, clean beds, and safe shelter for the night. We endeavor to provide a healthy alternative to the temptations of street life. Our goal at the Chattanooga Rescue Mission is to show the love of Christ to a lost and dying world. Overview of our Mission
We are a non-profit 501(c)3 faith-based organization that believes that God’s Word has all the answers to man’s sin problem. It is our goal to share God’s saving grace with all of our guests. One of the first steps in this process is providing food, shelter and clothing to those in need. As we meet these base needs, we pray that God will open their hearts to any spiritual needs that they may have. Eighty percent of our funding comes from individuals within and around our community who believe in the work of the mission. An additional 10% comes from supporting churches and the remaining 10% comes from businesses and grants.

Landen and Dax came by today. They are students at McCallie and will be returning next week to serve hot chocolate during the shelter meal. An announcement was made in the MCallie chapel asking students for hot chocolate supply donations. In one week, the students donated all of these supplies! We are grateful for McCallie's compassion for the homeless in Chattanooga!
