Are you looking to do work with or for the City of Chattanooga? We're working hard to buy more goods and services from local companies and hire locals for in-demand roles across city departments. Help us achieve this by attending our annual Purchasing Expo (Thursday, Sept. 24) and Hiring Expo (Thursday, Oct. 8) to get connected!

These events are free to attend. Register online: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/city-of-chattanooga-purchasing-expo-tickets-1992772729879

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (who is in charge of managing certain roads in Chattanooga like Main Street) will begin a major resurfacing/repaving project from Broad Street to Dodds Avenue. Nightly work will begin this Sunday, Aug. 30 through the morning of Friday, Sept. 4 — please adhere to all notices posted.

Once resurfacing is completed, crews will begin repaving, which is projected to take 2.5 weeks once started. We will provide updates as they come to us!

School is fully back in session and we’re setting out to make school zones even safer, Chattanooga!

In partnership with Hamilton County Schools, we’ve updated the school zone traffic lights at all 34 public schools within Chattanooga’s city limits. This update has moved the systems away from their older manual use, syncing them all to be automated through a pre-programmed schedule for bell times, including known school holidays and in-service days. Our tech team can even control them through the Traffic Management Center in the event of emergency closures or late/early starts.

Enjoy these quick safety tips from Mike Griffith — we hope everyone has a wonderful school year!

Imagine a space where you can live, work, dine, and play — that’s what’s coming soon to Broad Street as we celebrate the groundbreaking of Station 33. When complete, this development will feature 91 mixed residential units, a 25,000-sqft commercial space, a dining hall, and a European-style plaza in the center where all residents can gather for events and family-friendly fun.

We have been working very hard behind the scenes on reforming our Land Development Office to make it easier for Chattanooga to do business with the kind of visionaries behind this project. There are opportunities to create great urban environments where we have brownfields, as we’ve seen developed in other cities around the country. Station 33 will be a monumental addition!

Come see a little piece of Chattanooga's history!

Join us for the grand opening of the Chattanooga History Experience on Friday, August 21 at 11 a.m.

This new immersive experience brings our community’s story to life through original films, interactive exhibits, and student-driven storytelling.

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, come see how we’re honoring the people, places, and moments that shaped Chattanooga and Hamilton County—and helping a new generation find their place in our story.
