🚒🔥 Another incredible Fire Convention weekend this summer!

Our Chautauqua Fire Department crew had a great time sharing fire service experiences, celebrating tradition, and strengthening the friendships and camaraderie that connect departments and communities.

Happening today! (8/11)

Join the Chautauqua Fire Department at Children’s Beach starting around 4:30 PM for one of our favorite summer traditions.

We’ll have an engine and other fire apparatus at the beach, spray water into the swim area for the kids to cool off, hand out fun giveaways, and serve free hot dogs while supplies last.

While you’re out, be sure to stop by PLAY CHQ’s Candle Painting in Miller Park beginning at 4:00 PM ~ it’s a great way to enjoy two fun family activities in one afternoon!

If you’re in the surrounding community and would like to attend, Chautauqua Institution is providing free grounds access passes for the duration of the event. Let them know at the main gate welcome center that this event is your destination (parking is $15).

North Lake Fire Department is also hosting a similar event, “Firefighters Day”, on Wednesday (8/12) at 1 PM! It will be in the Mayville Lakeside Park with water for the kids and other fun activities.

We hope to see you there! Come cool off, meet your local firefighters, and enjoy a fun afternoon by the water. 🚒☀️

Join us for a fun afternoon at Children’s Beach this Tuesday, August 11!

Starting around 4:30 PM, firefighters from the Chautauqua Fire Department will be bringing an engine and other fire apparatus down to Children’s Beach for one of our favorite summer traditions. Kids can cool off as we spray water into the swim area, explore the fire apparatus, and take home some fun giveaways. We’ll also have free hot dogs while supplies last.

Make an afternoon of it! Just up the path in Miller Park, PLAY CHQ will also be hosting Candle Painting (at 4 PM), making it a great opportunity to enjoy two family-friendly activities in one trip.

We hope you’ll stop by, say hello, and enjoy a fun summer afternoon with us!

Live fire extinguisher training

Today’s the day: Free Fire Extinguisher Safety Class 🧯🔥

Join the us for a hands-on Fire Extinguisher Safety Class at 1:00 PM today (8/3) at the fire hall (2 Royal Way, Chautauqua, NY 14722). This free, 50 minute session is a great opportunity to learn how to confidently and safely use a fire extinguisher in case of an emergency.

We’ll begin with a short, informative class in the dining hall (enter through the front door on Massey Avenue and make your first left) followed by a live fire demonstration where attendees can practice using an extinguisher with guidance from our firefighters.

This class has been popular in past years and is an excellent refresher for homeowners, business staff, and anyone interested in fire safety.

All are welcome - no registration needed. We look forward to seeing you there!
