It was another truly powerful and inspirational Female Empowerment Day this year. Our female officers, female advisors, and girls from our local school districts got to spend the day together in small group breakout sessions, leadership and team building activities, and a wide array of outdoor sports to round out the day. We were also extremely honored to have Cheektowaga Councilmember Tiffany Lewis and former Cheektowaga Central graduate Kayrah Brown start off the morning by speaking to the girls about their journeys and female empowerment. Kayrah shared her story of becoming a young salon business owner at the age of 22 and Tiffany Lewis shared her story about becoming the first ever African American female to be elected to the town board. Thank you to everyone that made this happen! Can’t wait for next year!

We were honored to have Mr. Rasheen Powell of New Purpose Counseling, PLLC volunteer his time and come out to be our guest speaker for the Blue Bridges Boys Empowerment Day for our spring/summer session in 2026. His message as a youth counselor was incredibly powerful and impactful for the boys and they were into everything he had to say! We look forward to many future collaborations. Thank you Mr. Powell!

Please stop out tonight and support as Special Olympics New York is hosting a Law and Orders Night with some of our local Texas Roadhouses! From 5pm-7pm 10% of food sales will come back to Special Olympics New York and we will have local Law Enforcement AND Athletes there from 5pm-8pm to help serve YOU!! See you at the Cheektowaga location!!
