We were honored to have Mr. Rasheen Powell of New Purpose Counseling, PLLC volunteer his time and come out to be our guest speaker for the Blue Bridges Boys Empowerment Day for our spring/summer session in 2026. His message as a youth counselor was incredibly powerful and impactful for the boys and they were into everything he had to say! We look forward to many future collaborations. Thank you Mr. Powell!

From 5pm-7pm 10% of food sales will come back to Special Olympics New York and we will have local Law Enforcement AND Athletes there from 5pm-8pm to help serve YOU!! Well we had another successful Blue Mittens Project this 2025 holiday season! This day warms our hearts every year and we are so happy to be able to make it happen. Thank you to everyone who made this year a reality including Santa, our officers, our local school districts, our donors, Target, and our wonderful families! The Grinch tried to ruin our plans, but Santa and our police officers took care of it. We can’t wait until next year!

Our Blue Bridges officers got to participate in one of our favorite events of the year on Friday for Maryvale’s “Grinchball” handball tournament and pep assembly. The officers, teachers, and students spent a fun-filled afternoon together and shared some laughs and good-hearted competition during the holiday season! We wish all the kids, teachers, and staff at our local school districts a happy and healthy winter break with their family and friends. Happy Holidays to all!! We can’t wait until next year.

It’s Blue Mittens time! 👮‍♂️👮🏻💙

Our officers got to experience one of their favorite days of the year today with some really amazing kids and their families. Seeing the joy on the kids faces made all the planning worthwhile just knowing that these memories will last forever.

Thank you so much once again to Target Walden Galleria for hosting us for their program! This event would not be possible without them. Their staff went above and beyond as usual to provide the kiddos with Santa hats, candy canes, snacks, and hot chocolate during their shopping spree! Our helpers even got coffee ☕️ to keep us caffeinated!

A special thank you to our officers who volunteered their time to help build bridges with our kids and family members in the community during this holiday season. We love this day just as much as the kids do, which is evident in all the smiles.

We are so thankful for the collaborations that we have with all of our local school districts and community partners. The school counselors, teachers, and staff along with our Cheektowaga community members always come together to help to make this day possible.

The Blue Bridges Initiative would like to thank everyone who made our 2025 Female and Male Empowerment Days a success. Our guest speakers were extremely inspirational and left a lasting impact on the students representing all four of our local Cheektowaga school districts. Tiffany Lewis for Cheektowaga Town Council and Councilman Brian Pilarski along with former Cheektowaga Central students Tommy Summage and Tashawna Harris shared their personal, heartfelt stories that truly resonated with the kids.

Our Cheektowaga Police officers and chaperones/advisors from all four districts got to spend the entire day with the kids to focus on leadership, empowerment, and making good choices in the face of adversity during small groups. We also talked about short term and long term goal setting in a safe, judgment-free zone.

After lunch Dave Ryan from Cheektowaga Central School district led all of the students, officers, and advisors through an afternoon of fun team building events in the gym. Everyone got to work together as a team through some fun, yet challenging activities. Thank you to him for his help in organizing and making this a success.

We can’t wait to do this again for our spring empowerment days coming in 2026 where we can get outside!

A sincere thank you again to everyone. It truly takes a village to make these events a reality. 💙
