The Cleveland Hill Fire Department would like to congratulate the Cleveland Hill Exempt Club on their 75th anniversary this year! The Exempt Club is made up of past members of the company. They offer a wealth of knowledge to our current members and are often seen helping out at community events. Congrats on 75 years!!
Credit to The Highland Carpenters for making this amazing wooden crest to celebrate the occasion.
This weekend marks another inspection in the books. Our firefighters have been spending all week cleaning the hall and trucks. Great job everyone!
As we have been deep cleaning our firehall this week for inspection, we found a set of keys in the back of one of our vehicles. If anyone has lost them from the storm please reach out through PM so we can reunite them with their owner.
As we wrap up EMS week we want to honor all of the members of the Cleveland Hill Fire Department for volunteering their time to provide emergency medical services to our town. It may not always be fun, but these members volunteer their time to help the people in our community each and every day. For that we say THANK YOU!
Today is day 6 of EMS week and we would like to continue to honor members of our department who volunteer their time to provide emergency medical services to the community. Today we honor Andy Wagner. Andy is been in the department for 23 years, joining in August of 1999. He previously held the position of Assistant EMS director for 2 years and EMS director for 3 years. Andy is currently the treasurer for the board of fire commissioners. Andy is an integral part of our day crew and is always behind the scenes helping wherever he can around the department. He can often be seen helping out at fire prevention events teaching kids about fire safety. Thank you Andy for your continued commitment to our community!!
As we continue to celebrate EMS week we'd like to honor another member from our department. Today's honoree is Mike Philipps. Mike has been volunteering at Cleveland Hill since July of 1983! He has held several titles throughout the years to include treasurer, vice president and president. He also served on the board of fire commissioners for 30 years. Mike is Mr. Fix-it around the firehall. His wealth of knowledge has been a huge help anytime we need it. Mike credits past member Bob Trautman with getting him to join 40 years ago and he's loved every minute of it since. Thank you Mike for your continued commitment to our community!
Happy day 4 of National EMS week! As we continue to celebrate this week, we also honor another member of our department that volunteers their time to provide emergency medical services to our community. Our second honoree for the week is Alexis Krebs. Alexis started her journey with us as an explorer. She was also a junior Firefighter with our mutual aid department Hy-View. Alexis rejoined our department in 2021 and has been a great addition to our crew. Alexis received the rookie of the year award in 2021 and she recently took the time to earn her NYS EMT certification. Alexis is always willing to help with community events and fire prevention details. Thank you Alexis for your commitment to helping our community!
In celebration of EMS week, we would like to recognize some of our members who volunteer their time to provide emergency medical services to our district. Today we recognize David Grant Jr for his dedication to our department and community. David joined in 2018 and worked hard to obtain his EMT and Fire 1 certifications. David has served the department formerly as an EMS Lieutenant but now holds a position as 1st Firematic Lieutenant. No matter his position, David volunteers to answer countless calls to service no matter the time of day. Thank you David for your commitment to our community!

We have had several members of the community ask how they can show their support for the WNY Snowmobile Club of Boston after they helped us during the storm. Their assistance was given by 100% volunteers and the club operates mostly off of donations from the public and fundraisers. If anyone is interested in donating to them, here is their mailing information:
WNY Snowmobile Club of Boston

Another thank you goes out to the firefighters from Ridge Road Fire District. They took over on Monday so our exhausted crews could get some much needed rest. Thank you!!!
We want to send the BIGGEST THANK YOU to the WNY Snowmobile Club of Boston . Their groomers came to our rescue in our greatest time of need. Their drivers Dave and Richie are true heros volunteering their time, staying up for 3 days, and helping us rescue over 100 people from within our district. There isn't a word big enough to show our appreciation. So for now all we can say is THANK YOU!
Please check your furnace vents if you have newer style furnace that vents on the side of the house.
Carbon monoxide poisoning is a serious concern as snow drifts block furnace and dryer vents. Be sure to clear snow from your vents to prevent build-up of this colorless, odorless gas in your home.
There is still a driving ban in our area. Please stay off the road. We are still working extremely hard to get people out and to the warming shelter and it is very difficult to get down roads if there are cars blocking. If you have a life of death emergency call 911.
Please please please stay off the road. We are working our best to get to every call we can. It is extremely difficult to navigate in our district with drifts as high as 10 feet in some places. There are only a few plowed roads which we need to stay open so we can get people to safety. Again please STAY OFF THE ROADS! If you are having a life threatening emergency please call 911.
A huge THANK YOU to all of the community who helped stock up the local food pantry before Christmas!
