With temperatures rising, please take heat-related illnesses seriously. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can happen quickly and become life-threatening.
🚨 Signs of Heat Exhaustion:
• Heavy sweating
• Dizziness or weakness
• Nausea
• Headache
• Muscle cramps
• Cool, pale, clammy skin
🚑 Signs of Heat Stroke (CALL 911):
• Body temperature above 103°F
• Hot, red, dry OR damp skin
• Confusion or altered mental status
• Slurred speech
• Loss of consciousness
• Seizures
✅ Protect Yourself & Your Family:
• Drink plenty of water throughout the day
• Avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol
• Limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours
• Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
• Take frequent breaks in shade or air conditioning
• Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle — even for a few minutes
Please check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone without reliable air conditioning.
