Lewis County Back Country Horsemen Founded by trail riders concerned about stock use on public land, we believe in working WITH land managers and others to keep those trails OPEN for everyone.

Back country Horsemen of Washington (BCHW), is a 501C3 organization with 35 chapters across the state dedicated to: keeping trails open for all users; educating horse users in Leave No Trace practices; and providing volunteer service to resource agencies.

Packwood Lake Trail Enhancement: Lewis County Chapter of BCHW.

Stock watering tank has been successfully installed to the trailhead, a rock wall has replaced an undercut and eroded trail along the lake, trails cleared, water diversions placed and rotten puncheons removed and replaced with turnpikes for safe passage for stock and human hikers.

Pipeline Trail, Packwood Lake Trail (nearly to Mosquito Lake due to snow) and Upper Lake Creek trail are open.

Much appreciation to those who helped with our work party, we couldn’t have done it without you!

If you ride Burnt Ridge Trail Bridge #8 has new decking on it now. Thank you Tony Karniss ,Rod & Anne Inman Hamilton ,Don & Marsha ONeal . No longer need to detour. Also had a log to cut out of t he trail since the last time we were out there. All good to go now.

If you ride Burnt Ridge Trail in Onalaska,Wa, please respect the flagging that is up. We have a bridge that needs re decking and we have set up a detour. This is on the Northside of Burnt Ridge Rd.first bridge on that side after entering from the southside trail.

This is a map of Burnt Ridge Trail. Lewis County maintains these trails and this is where our Fun Ride will be held on May 16th. The flyer is out . Hope to see you there. We have 5mile loop, 8 mile loop and if you are up for the whole trail it is 11miles.
