Serene Yantis left for Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego today and will make her mark In Marine Corps history by being the third company of female Marines to ever graduate from San Diego. She then will make another mark on history of being one of the few females to attend the Marine Corps School of Infantry. Yantis has proved since her enlistment in July that she is physically and mentally ready to take on the challenges of Marine Corps Recruit Training. In three months Lewis County will have its newest Marine.
