🚛🥫 Today is the day! As part of DPW Appreciation week, help the Chelmsford DPW “Fill-A-Dump-Truck” for the Chelmsford Food Pantry!

Join the Chelmsford DPW today, Friday, May 29th from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Market Basket, 288 Chelmsford St., as they collect donations to help support local families in need.

Non-perishable food items and pantry essentials are greatly appreciated. Let’s come together as a community and help fill the truck!

Heart Pond will be treated for invasive aquatic plants tomorrow - Thursday, May 28, 2026. As a result, the pond will be closed for swimming, boating and fishing tomorrow, but will reopen Friday morning.

The first round of planting for the Chelmsford Front Yard Tree Planting Program was a success! 🌳

As part of this round of the program, more than 60 Chelmsford residents received a free tree planted in their front yard and 36 municipal trees were planted throughout town to help expand our urban canopy and enhance the local environment for future generations.

In observance of Memorial Day, the Chelmsford DPW and all Town Offices will be closed on Monday, May 26.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

We wish everyone a safe holiday weekend.

***Update - Due to weather, the parade will be starting at 10:30AM***

Please join us on Monday, May 25th for the 2026 Memorial Day Parade

- Road closures begin at 9:45 AM
- Parade steps off at 10:00 AM

Parade Route:
• Begins at the American Legion
• Travels down Groton Road toward Vinal Square
• Bears left onto Middlesex Street
• Ends at the North Chelmsford Common

Please note: Vinal Square will remain closed until approximately noon for a clock dedication ceremony.

We encourage everyone to plan ahead, expect traffic delays, and come out to support this important community tradition.

Yard Waste Collection Update:

Yard waste collection is still underway, with Thursday and Friday routes still remaining.

E.L. Harvey crews are working to complete all pickups and expect to finish by the end of the day on Thursday, May 21.

Please leave your yard waste at the curb until it has been collected.
