📣Community Notice

Consumers Energy will be conducting a planned gas flaring operation on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 2401 M-52 Hwy in Chelsea.

This process is expected to begin between 8:00-9:00 a.m. and last approximately 2-5 hours.

Flaring is a safe and environmentally responsible method used to release natural gas before maintenance work begins. The noise and visible flame are normal parts of the process and will decrease as the operation progresses.

A new sculpture has been installed as part of the 2026/27 Chelsea Sculpture Walk! Be sure to check out “Magnificent 11” by Todd Kime, on display in front of City Hall and Chelsea State Bank.
