It was formed in 1931 to be the voice of the business and professional people of Chelsea. The Chelsea Chamber holds many networking and other events throughout the year for members as well as nonmembers to promote and discuss their businesses. I wanted to take a moment to write you as a proud Chamber member to ask you for a brief moment of your time. I hope you might consider my message. As a member of the Chelsea business community, I have been overwhelmed by the spirit of this City, and all of the great people who make it up. Since 2018, when I had the good fortune of having El Potro join you all here, I have been amazed by how welcoming and collaborate we all have been to support each other, but also the people of Chelsea.
Overall, as the business manager here at El Potro, one of the things I value most is how important it is for the business community to become a part of the fabric of the places where we do business, and where our customers, who become our friends & neighbors, come from. I think its important to get involved where they live, and to support the things and the people that matter to them. To support the schools, and students and families who are truly the definition of "community". A phrase I took to using in the pandemic is that "we all stay stronger together," and I truly believe that.
So I know many of you may have received an email recently from the Chelsea Kiwanis about their annual Track & Field Day, but I wanted to just say a few words, if you allow me. Yes I am a member of the Kiwanis, and yes I understand we all are busy, and as business owners and managers, we all receive these type of letters and pleas, but I really ask you to take a moment. I also know there is an unspoken stigma and a "history" here in the City among and between the many service based organizations, and although I can not personally undue that history, I hope to make new history, and build new bridges and spark new collaborations among us all, so we as a community and truly Stay Stronger Together.
That being said, I am asking you on a personal level, to please join with me and supporting this event, which directly benefits our community, and scholarships for worthy Chelsea students. We need sponsors, but we also need volunteers. Its a great way to build community and show our friends and neighbors that you care. Last year, when the event returned, we also gave businesses and groups the opportunity to have a table at the event, so you can introduce yourself to the community, say hello, and come together.
On a personal note, I have now been a part of this over the last two times it has run, and it is truly a blast to see the smiles on the kids faces, and the laughter and enjoyment that they and their families receive. I have left with a huge sense of pride, and warmth and I know you will too.

A lot has happened since we last reached out regarding Chelsea Kiwanis Club's Annual Track & Field Day. For starters, we entered our event in Kiwanis International's Signature Project Contest...and we won (!!), receiving the gold medal for clubs of our size over a competitive field of Top 10 Finalists from Italy, Philippines, Jamaica, and six other U.S. states. We're pretty proud of that, but the more important thing is, when we ask you to support our Track & Field Day event as a financial sponsor and/or volunteer, you can be extra certain that it is a worthy cause.

This September will mark the 22nd year that we bring together hundreds of Chelsea youths and their families for a day of fun, food, and physical activity...and to raise money to fund four college/trade school scholarships for graduating seniors from Chelsea High School. Whether you've supported the event every year, occasionally in the past, or this will be your first time, won't you please consider a donation—whether it is financial, in-kind (food, etc.), or of your valuable volunteer time.

This September will mark the 22nd year that we bring together hundreds of Chelsea youths and their families for a day of fun, food, and physical activity...and to raise money to fund four college/trade school scholarships for graduating seniors from Chelsea High School. Whether you've supported the event every year, occasionally in the past, or this will be your first time, won't you please consider a donation—whether it is financial, in-kind (food, etc.), or of your valuable volunteer time.

Excited to be back in Chelsea where my career in local government began! Chelsea continues to be a dynamic, welcoming city, and I appreciated the opportunity to meet with local business owners today with Jen Hassell from the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce. It was a pleasure to join my friends at the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce for their 2022 Annual Breakfast. The guest speakers, Marta Rosa and Jackie Jenkins- Scott shared their vision for the future of the Chamber and it is bright!
It was great to see my friends tonight at the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce Business Card Exchange! We had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather, catch up and enjoy some delicious appetizers at El Potro Mexican Bar & Grill.
Undersecretary Edward A. Palleschi visited International Nails Chelsea this afternoon to present the salon owner of over 20 years, Kim Le with the OCABR Licensee Recognition Program's Award of Excellence.
Thank you Roy Avellaneda, Chelsea City Council President for nominating Kim and her wonderful business, as well as members from both the Chelsea City Council and Chelsea Chamber of Commerce who attended. Strong partnerships between city councils and local chamber of commerce's across the Commonwealth are vital for small businesses, like International Nails, to thrive and succeed.
