The more scenarios, tools, practicals, and group discussions we have...the better prepared we are to serve and protect the community!

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is now hiring for Deputy Positions; including both new to Law Enforcement or previously certified as a Level II or Level III Officer in the State of Vermont. This position includes paid training (internal and state level at the Vermont Police Academy), uniform, equipment provided, and field training.

Starting Wage: $22/hour
After Certification and FTO: $25/hour
*pay will be commensurate with the experience, skills, and qualifications that the candidate brings to the position.

Duties to Include: Directed Patrols, Traffic Enforcement, Prison Transportation, Road Constructions Contacted Details, Civil Services, and Other

Qualifying Skills: Good Communication, No Criminal Record, Good Hygiene, Well Groomed, Punctual and Reliable.

Taz is overly friendly, if you see his teeth, he's smiling...he's loves people and other dogs.

The Orange County Sheriff Department is asking assistance from the community to help identify a White Late Model GM Truck (see attached photo) that was used on July 4th, 2025 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in Williamstown for the Theft of Brand New Pallets from a Local Business. If anyone has information regarding this incident, the vehicle used, or any other information that would help us in our investigation please call the Orange County Sheriff Department at 802-685-4875
