MEET OUR STAFF!

Dante is a member of our maintenance team , currently working out of our Scrivano site and our main office. Dante brings an infectious positive energy to the position and always goes above and beyond to ensure residents and staff feel comfortable where they live and work. Dante is a local Chelsea resident that grew up in our community and takes that energy into his work every day. He initially started off as a temporary worker and quickly transitioned into a full time staff member when a position opened up. He is often seen happily greeting residents while he maintains Scrivano in and around our units. CHA strives to bring in local residents and works to develop our employees professionally so we can promote from within , creating a culture of community & connectivity and Dante is a great example of both of these philosophies in action.

MEET OUR STAFF!

Muskaan is a Leased Housing Program Representative that works out of our main office. She initially joined CHA through our internship program with Bunker Hill Community College and was such a great fit that she transitioned into our main staff when an opening was available. Each of our Leased Housing Representatives has a dedicated portfolio of voucher holders that they work with ensuring that our staff gets to know who they are working with and residents feel more comfortable engaging with employees that know who they are. Our representatives also work with landlords, agencies and other staff to help make the lives of all our residents better!

Last weekend Governor Maura Healey stopped by the City of Chelsea to celebrate the city's 4th All America City win and during her tour of the city she stopped by the Chelsea Housing Authority Mace site. During her visit she met with residents, CHA staff and resident leaders among others community leaders. While on site the Governor ran an impromptu basketball clinic with the local youth and visited a few residents to find out more about the concerns of Chelsea residents.

This week the CHA team traveled to Framingham for the kick off of an EV Carshare pilot that includes the residents of the Chelsea Housing Authority. Working with MAPC, Alwayz, Beam Global and Zipcar CHA is hosting a Zipcar at our site for use by our residents at a discounted rate. Chelsea was among four communities chosen for this innovative program which is possible through a grant from Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. Our team also met with Alwayz and Zipcar employees to learn more about how the program works as we create an outreach plan focusing on transit equity. We will be hosting an official ribbon cutting event in August to celebrate the pilot.

We are all very excited for this transformative program. Many of our residents have licenses but do not have access to cars, and this is an innovative way to bridge that physical divide between places with limited transit options. Residents will be able to go shopping, take their children to appointments and visit family in a very eco-friendly and affordable way with this program!

Nothing says summer like good food, great company, and even better memories!

Last Wednesday, our Prattville/Fitzpatrick community came together for a fun afternoon of BBQ, laughter, and sunshine (with some torrential downpours in between).

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it a wonderful day. We love bringing our residents and staff together to create lasting memories!

This week our FSS Coordinator Carmen Torres celebrated one year of being cancer free. Carmen has survived multiple bouts with cancer and comes out stronger every time. Last year our team dedicated our Annual Report book to Carmen, the staff all wore pink CHA shirts to show support and Carmen was our featured employee. Despite her battle against cancer last year Carmen continued to work with residents on their hopes and dreams through the FSS program where she continued to show her residents love and support. We are lucky to have Carmen working with our residents and bringing joy to our staff and join her in celebrating.🩷🎗️
