The North Entrance, East Rim and West Rim Drive are due to close for winter weather this Friday, 10/10/25. The West Entrance on Hwy. 62 will remain open.

The Road to the Rim is expected to remain open into next week to maintain access to the Crater Lake Lodge as they finish their operational season.

Please keep in mind, during the government shutdown, some services may be delayed or limited.
Recreate responsibly and don't forget to come prepared for winter.

Although 2025 boat tours have ended, you can still access the lake by hiking the Cleetwood Cove Trail, found off of the northern part of East Rim Drive. Do not let the length of the trail fool you: it is strenuous, dropping 700 feet in elevation in approximately a mile (though most visitors find the hike back UP the most difficult part). The trail will close November 1st at the latest, OR SOONER, depending on weather. Once the trail closes for the season, it is expected to remain closed for approximately three years for major renovations to the trail and waterfront.

All of East Rim Drive is now OPEN!

This year’s reconstruction area on East Rim Drive is now complete! Come visit and drive the full 33 miles of Rim Drive. Pinnacles Road and Phantom Ship Overlook are now accessible. Thank you for your patience, as that segment of road needed a serious makeover!
