Tomorrow, Saturday August 1st, the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning 🚩 with a PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) for Central and Eastern Washington, to include the Spokane area. The Red Flag Warning has been issued from 11:00AM-11:00PM with the PDS from 2:00PM-8:00PM.
This incoming weather event will present with extreme fire weather, and the very high potential for any new or existing fire to spread rapidly. Fire District 3 has added multiple additional crews tomorrow in preparation for this weather event.
In the event of a fire, be prepared to evacuate safely and have a plan in place for you and your family.
Please use extreme caution tomorrow with any type of ignition source, and avoid any activities that have the potential to start a fire.
Red Flag Warnings are out for all of Central and Eastern Washington and North Idaho on Saturday. Extreme Fire Weather is forecast from 2 PM-8 PM Saturday, with SW winds 20-30 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH for the Waterville Plateau, Okanogan Valley, Columbia Basin, Colville Reservation, Spokane area, Palouse, and Snake River. This is a particularly dangerous situation. Very rapid fire growth can be expected with ongoing and new fires.
