Honored to work with and stand side by side with the Mayor of Cheneyville, Derrick Johnson, as we teamed up to pass an important law to help our injured soldiers and their families https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=559696248249856
People across the state of Louisiana is diligently concern over this virus that are affecting milions. I notice how our neighboring towns such as Simmesport and Moureauville have instituted a curfew from 5 P.M to 6 A.M . Officials are very concern with the lives of their citizens. Therefore let us out of respect obey them. Thanks to our governmental officials for caring
Cheneyville Police Department's (PD's) Officer Hall and I spoke of many things. Cheneyville is blessed to have him. I volunteer with my local PD in TX, so we have things in common, including Cheneyville. I want to share this with fellow Cheney-villains, (that's what our Boy Scout Troop used to call ourselves), because I care about friends in Cheneyville and we still have small house in Cheneyville that we would like to refurbish. Suggestions: 1. A Community working with neighbors and the PD significantly enhances safety and welfare. The police rely heavily on supportive citizens and a policeman is our friend. Also, stronger ties with neighbors creates friendships and causes helping hands in times of need. I remember citizens helping neighbors and knowing each other. 2. Share suspicious activities with our police and thank them for their service. They sometimes risk their lives for us. Like our military, most officers do it to serve and help others. Back them. 3. House Numbers. Install or upgrade house numbers to be visible from the street, during day or nights. Are they easy locate and clearly visible? Quickly locating houses saves time and lives. It also prevents visits to the wrong houses which can cause unnecessary disasters. 4. Lighting around houses helps to dissuade criminals. Take care, Marty P.S. I heard that the Founder's Day Festibval turned out to be a great success ... after the rains departed. Congratulations!. :)
The Opelousas Walgreens is offering Veterans free flu shots! No appointment is needed. Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday 7am-11pm. Saturday’s and Sunday’s 9am-9pm. Come see us!
Please post the dates for the 2019 Founders Day activities!
I grew up with a mailing address of Cheneyville, Louisiana. The picture of a man on a tractor seems very appropriate, since Cheneyville in those days only had a post office, two or three stores, and a school. My first cousins attended Cheneyville, School. Wonderful to see this page! Does anyone who reads this page remember the Sam P. Lyles family? The local cotton gin was on our place.
to Derrick Johnson.. met at LA Municipal League exhibit..have samples of Aqua Patch permanent Pothole solution; would like you samples on your request. [email protected] 817-416-6934
Sad day we lost a historical 200 year old oak tree in the Christian Cemetery across the Bayou.
