Being a child in the foster care system, it isn’t easy, I myself was in foster care for five years of my life, along with my older brother and sister. I have seen things first hand and as i grow older my heart has longed to help in every way possible. I am creating this non-profit in hopes of letting these kids know that someone does care. In foster care holidays are tough and especially around christmas. While other children and teens have a family surrounding them and the experience of the true christmas spirit, these kids are left wondering if anyone truly loves them. Also, even though gift giving isn’t the only reason, these foster kids usually have never had the privilege of opening gifts. So, this is why i have decided to start, (Non-Profit) “Foster Christmas”.
“Foster Christmas”, throughout the year will select a foster home or orphanage within the area. Then, from there we will ask each child to make a wish list.
Throughout the year, Foster Christmas, will have different types of fundraisers such as, Car washes, bake sales, etc. then around Thanksgiving we will take all the money that was raised, throughout the year and go shopping for the things in which the kids have asked for. After we have gone shopping, we will choose a date to have a christmas party. Taking time with these children/teens. Letting them know what it feels like to have the experience that so many children miss out on. Not only giving the gifts and leaving but spending hours, playing games, music, and simply speaking with each child and sharing with them the joy that in otherwise they may never know.
So as we plan and bring love to life. I hope and pray that you would find it within your heart to help out and show them that they are loved and are not alone.

The idea for (Non-Profit) Foster Christmas, came from a friend of mine. He started his non-profit, “Operation Foster Child”, as a school project and it grew into a very productive organization. I myself helped with their group a couple years ago, and it inspired me greatly.
I spoke with him and i decided that since he had Operation Foster Child in North Carolina then, i would see how it would do here in South Carolina. So as a result, this is (Non-Profit) Foster Christmas.
