Thank you for this opportunity to collaborate on this wonderful project that will educate and inspire the next generation of firefighters and all of the students who helped make it happen.

🎭🚒 Cherokee High School set design students recently partnered with EBCI Cherokee Fire and Rescue on an incredible end-of-year project!

Using leftover materials from this year’s musical production, students designed and built a realistic house simulation that will now be used by Cherokee Fire & Rescue for fire prevention education, interactive activities for younger children, career exploration opportunities, and other community outreach programs.

This hands-on project allowed students to showcase their creativity, craftsmanship, and teamwork while making a meaningful impact in the community. We are proud to see our Braves using their talents to support local first responders and help educate future generations about fire safety and emergency services.

While moisture is expected to begin slowly recovering tomorrow,
another very dry afternoon is expected with relative humidity
between 20 and 30 percent forecast across much of the area.
Although winds will be mostly light...between 5 and 10 mph, the
dry air combined with very dry vegetation will result in a
continuation of elevated fire danger.

Statewide burn bans are in effect for both North Carolina and
South Carolina until further notice. Open burning of any kind is
subject to fines until the bans are lifted.

Increased Risk of Wildfire Due to High to Extreme Fire Danger -- March 25, 2026

What does high fire danger mean for you today?

🎯Fires can start from the smallest spark.
🎯Dry conditions and wind increase fire spread.
🎯Everyday activities carry more risk right now.

Avoid burning, and be cautious with anything that could cause a spark.

Contact your N.C. Forest Service county ranger's office for guidance.

Spread prevention, not wildfire.

Last week Cherokee Fire and Rescue had the opportunity to be apart of Cherokee Central Schools CTE Fair. We took equipment, 5 personnel and training props to show off to all of the high school kids. We were able to answer many questions about our Career and Department.
