Selected from forty nominations from the faculty, these students exemplified this month’s theme: Starting Strong! ⚠️ Parents: Important Social Media Awareness

We want to make parents aware of a social media trend involving the “Cat in the Hat” character that is currently circulating on TikTok, Snapchat, and other social media platforms.

Some of this content includes altered or AI-generated images and videos that portray the character in threatening or disturbing situations. In some cases, posts have included the names of schools, students, or communities.

While much of this content appears to be fake or intended as a disturbing online trend, some posts have crossed the line into threats or intimidation. Law enforcement agencies and school officials across the country are taking these reports seriously.

We encourage parents to talk with their children about what they are seeing online and to report any concerning content or threats to the appropriate authorities and school officials.

Mrs. Paris’s Senior English class took their study of Beowulf to the next level on Thursday! Students enjoyed Beowulf’s Punch while learning about the tradition of epic poetry being recited in Anglo-Saxon mead halls.

A little literature, a little history, and a little punch made for a fun way to bring Beowulf to life!
