Please do not use hospital road. The road is closed near the hospital entrance to theater entrance due to motorcycle accident. The road will remain closed while officers are working the scene. We appreciate your understanding.

Please be advised that Olivet Rd. will be closed up to Old Mission Rd. due to power poles and lines being down blocking the roadway. Please use an alternate route until further notice.

Road Conditions & Power Outage

Duke Energy reported they hope to have the power repaired on hospital road at approximately 10pm tonight. Please be cautious if you have to travel, this power outage has caused some traffic lights to be inoperable.

Roads are snow covered and slick. We ask that you remain at home unless travel is absolutely necessary. CDOT and Tribal Construction have been working to clear the roads however the roads remain in poor condition. Your safety and well being is paramount.

"It is the mission of the Cherokee Indian Police Department to protect the lives and property of tribal members, residents and visitors to the Qualla Boundary and this mission has not changed. However, due to the pending weather, officers may be unable to respond to every non emergent call for service. Calls for service will be evaluated by our emergency dispatch center as well as our patrol supervisors.
