We always love when our former Chiefs come back to teach our current Chiefs!

Anna Alvarez is now a student at NWOSU who is spending time with our 3rd graders this semester. She has spent time observing over the past few weeks, but this week she had the opportunity to teach her first lesson. She taught the students about place value with fun hands-on activities. They made place value animals and creations!

📚🐶 A Special Storytime in Pre-K! 💗

We had the sweetest visitors in Pre-K today! Author Vanessa Garvie, her daughter Sarah Garvie Wilber, and their four-legged friend, Tugg, stopped by to share Vanessa’s new book, Tugg and Maggie’s Adventures: Let’s Go! 🐾📖

Our students loved listening to the story and getting to meet and pet Tugg, the star of the show! What a fun way to bring a story to life and inspire a love of reading in our youngest learners! ❤️

A big thank-you to Vanessa and Sarah for sharing their book, their time, and sweet Tugg with our Pre-K students. We loved having you visit! 🐶📚💗

🍦 We had a SWEET time in 3rd grade! 🍦

Last week our class had so much fun making Ice Cream in a Bag with a special visit from a local 4-H’er, Aubrey Marrero.

We learned that making homemade ice cream is actually pretty simple! All you need is milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla! 🥛🍨

The students loved getting to make their own ice cream, and of course, adding their favorite toppings made it even better! 😋

A HUGE thank you to our special guest, Aubrey for taking the time to share this fun, hands-on activity with us! We loved learning something new and enjoying a delicious treat along the way! ❤️🍦

Wednesday, we celebrated students who met their 1st 9-Weeks Accelerated Reader (AR) Goal with a delicious ice cream sundae and a movie! 🍨🎬

All students also had the opportunity to shop at the AR Store and use the AR Bucks they earned to pick out something special! 🛍️💰

We are proud of our students for working hard, setting goals, and growing as readers! Keep up the great work, Chiefs! ❤️🖤📖
