In June 1956, the Music Circus, later known as a Camden County Music Fair, presented its first performance under the big top at Bortons Mill and Brace Roads. Despite appearances by top-flight talent of the time, The big top closed in 1969 due to lagging attendance. Today, this site is home to Challenge Grove Park and Jake’s Place Playground.

We wanted to take another opportunity to share about the New Jersey American Water Lead Service Line Replacement Program.

CDM Smith, a contractor for New Jersey American Water, has been conducting door-to-door outreach since April 20, to check water service lines in Cherry Hill. These inventory assessments and scheduled inspections will continue over the next few weeks.

Residents will receive official notification from New Jersey American Water and CDM Smith through mailed letters, postcards, customer alerts, emails, and digital or social media messages. These communications explain the Lead Service Line Replacement Program, and outline options for residents to self-identify their service line online or schedule an inspection appointment with an authorized representative by visiting calendly.com/njaw/cherryhill. All inspections are free and performed by authorized staff.

CDM Smith field staff will carry an official company photo ID badge and wear logoed, high-visibility vests. Staff will never request payment, fees, or personal financial information. All assessments are provided at no cost to residents.

Participation is voluntary, and no one is required to open their door if they are uncomfortable.

For questions, residents can contact the New Jersey American Water Lead Team at [email protected] or call CDM Smith at (732) 590-4700.

Congratulations to Cherry Hill Police Captain Sheldon Bryant on being awarded the Franklin M. Kreml Leadership Award. Captain Bryant leads with integrity and professionalism, and the Cherry Hill Police Department is fortunate to benefit from his dedicated service to the people of Cherry Hill.

Please join us in congratulating Captain Sheldon Bryant, who was voted by his own classmates to receive the Franklin M. Kreml Leadership Award, recognizing the professionalism, leadership, and respect he demonstrated throughout the course.

Captain Bryant earned the honor upon graduating from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, a nationally recognized program hosted by the Philadelphia Police Department. From January through May 2026, the course brought together law enforcement leaders from across the region to study leadership, organizational management, and the challenges facing modern policing.

Developing strong leaders is one of the most important investments a department can make. Cherry Hill is proud to support the professional and executive growth of its officers, because the quality of our leadership directly shapes the quality of service our community receives.

Our thanks to Northwestern University and the Philadelphia Police Department for their continued investment in public safety leadership.

•NEW- Appliances & Metal Items:

To better serve residents, these items will be picked up every Thursday by appointment. Call DPW by 3pm on Wednesday to schedule. Place items at the curb by 7am Thursday. If they’re still there after 7am Friday, give DPW a call at (856) 424-4422 or connect at: https://www.sdlportal.com/towns/nj/camden/cherryhilltwp/requests/complaint

• Bulk Trash:
