Rehab 13 - Deer Park Fire Company Serving Those Who Serve

New members always needed! https://www.volunteermatch.org/search/opp2067782 During that time, a campaign for new members was undertaken.

Incorporated in August of 1948, The Deer Park Fire Company’s current mission is to provide the citizens and emergency workers of Cherry Hill Township and its surrounding mutual aid communities with a three-piece Rehab and canteen unit. The Rehab concept was originally presented to the membership in late 2003, and after careful research and development, an operating budget was drafted. The Board of

Trustees appointed a Station Captain, and he appointed a competent staff to move the plan forward. After visiting several other Rehab units in the tri-state area, the plan was finalized and presented to the Cherry Hill Fire Department and the members of the Deer Park Fire Company for acceptance and approval. Once approvals were obtained, three Rehab vehicles and all support equipment for the station were purchased an or installed. This successful recruiting drive produced a total of seven new members, and the total membership was now 35. Of these 35 members, 24 of them are active members that respond to emergency incidents, as well as the non-emergency calls for service that we handle. Since those early days, we have been called to numerous incidents in Camden, Burlington, Gloucester, and Atlantic counties. Every time we respond to an incident, we pay close attention to how and where we can make improvements to the service we provide. Our goal is to provide high quality professional service for every emergency scene we are dispatched to. If you are in the area of our station, stop by and see us. We would be happy to show you around. We take great pride in “Serving Those Who Serve.”

On July 27th, Rehab 13 responded to Winslow Township to support crews operating at a fire with a hazardous materials incident at the Kellogg plant. Incidents like these can be lengthy and demanding, and our mission is to make sure the firefighters and emergency personnel on scene have the resources they need to stay fueled, hydrated, and ready to work.

Throughout the operation, our volunteers were there to provide a place for crews to take a break, rehydrate, grab something to eat, and recharge before returning to the incident. Supporting first responders behind the scenes is what we do, and we are proud to be there whenever we’re needed.

A special thank you to our volunteers who answered the call in the early morning hours to make this response possible. Your dedication to serving those who serve, no matter the time of day, is what keeps Rehab 13 ready when our neighboring departments need us most.

On July 21st, Rehab 13 responded to Lumberton Township to support first responders during a lengthy police incident involving a barricaded subject inside a motorhome in the Walmart parking lot. Although this was not a fire response, our mission remained the same by making sure the personnel working the scene had what they needed to stay fueled and hydrated throughout the operation.

Over the course of the incident, our crew kept officers and emergency personnel supplied with food, drinks, and refreshments so they could remain focused on the task at hand. As the operation came to a close, the suspect was taken into custody after law enforcement breached the motorhome.

No matter the type of call, Rehab 13 is proud to be there serving those who serve our communities.

In the early morning hours of July 9th, Rehab 13 was dispatched to Clementon to support firefighters operating at a two alarm residential fire.

As crews battled the fire, our team established a rehab area where firefighters could step away from the fireground to rest, rehydrate, and cool down before returning to work. Along with cold drinks, frozen pops, snacks, and fresh coffee, we set up our Kore Kooler chairs and mister fans to help provide some relief from the summer heat during an extended operation.

Whether it’s the middle of the day or before sunrise, our mission remains the same. We’re proud to provide a place for first responders to recover so they can safely get back to doing what they do best.

On the morning of July 4th, Rehab 13 responded to Voorhees to assist during the evacuation of a nursing facility after the building lost air conditioning while temperatures remained above 100 degrees.

As residents were relocated to a nearby high school and then transported to other care facilities, our crew was there to support the responders and staff working through the incident. We provided cold drinks, coffee, snacks, and breakfast items to firefighters, EMS, police, and facility personnel as operations continued throughout the morning.

It was a unique call that highlighted the importance of teamwork across multiple agencies to ensure residents remained safe and cared for. We are proud to support those efforts whenever we’re needed.
