Great turnout yesterday for the Habitat for Humanity of Boone County - Meat Raffle! 🏠

It was great to see so many people come out to support the work Habitat does helping local families achieve the dream of homeownership.

I also had the opportunity to see the blueprints for the next Habitat home planned for Poplar Grove. It’s always encouraging to see a community come together to help another local family put down roots.

Thank you to the Habitat volunteers, supporters, and everyone who came out to make the event a success!

Finding missing children must remain a priority.

We recently saw 24 missing children recovered during Operation New Dawn here in Illinois. Now, another major coordinated law enforcement effort has resulted in 163 missing children — ranging in age from just 2 months to 17 years old — being recovered in Florida and beyond.

These operations are an important reminder of what can happen when law enforcement agencies work together, share resources and stay focused on finding vulnerable children.

Every child found matters. Every child brought home matters.

Thank you to the law enforcement officers, investigators and organizations doing this difficult work. We must continue supporting efforts that help find missing children and bring them home safely.

A great Saturday morning in Huntley!

It was good to spend some time at the Huntley Farmers Market visiting with residents, local businesses and vendors, and catching up with the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce.

One of the best parts of representing this area is simply having the opportunity to talk with people, hear what’s on their minds and stay connected to the communities I serve.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello — and to all those who help make the Huntley Farmers Market such a great community gathering place!

Medicare can be confusing — especially when you’re approaching eligibility or trying to understand how Medicare works with supplemental coverage.

Senator Craig Wilcox and I are hosting a Medicare 101 seminar in Wonder Lake to help make the process easier to understand.

We’ll be joined by a representative from the Illinois Department on Aging who will explain the different parts of Medicare and help answer questions about navigating the program.

If you’re already enrolled, approaching Medicare eligibility, or helping a family member navigate Medicare, I hope you’ll join us.

More than 50 area residents were able to take care of their Secretary of State needs right here in Huntley today!

State Representative Jeff Keicher, Rep. Joe Sosnowski and I partnered to bring the Secretary of State Mobile Unit to the community, helping residents with driver’s license renewals, REAL IDs, vehicle registration and other services.

We even had Village of Pingree Grove Village President Amber Kubiak stop by to update her license!

Thank you to Mayor Tim Hoeft and the Village of Huntley for providing the space, and to the Secretary of State staff for helping make the day a success.

Making government services more accessible and convenient for the people we represent is what constituent service is all about.

Illinois families are paying more while government is flourishing.

When government is collecting more, taxpayers should not continually be asked to pay more.

We need to prioritize responsible spending, protect taxpayers and focus on policies that make Illinois more affordable for working families, seniors and small businesses.

It was great to join the Hampshire Area Chamber of Commerce for their Annual Member Breakfast.

I appreciated the opportunity to provide a legislative update and, more importantly, hear from local business owners and community leaders about what is happening throughout the Hampshire area.

Thank you to the Chamber for bringing together leaders from Village of Hampshire, Village of Pingree Grove, Burlington, Kane County and the surrounding communities. These conversations and partnerships are important as we work together to support our local businesses and keep our communities strong.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

What an incredible loss for country music, our country, and generations of people around the world.

Dolly Parton was truly one of a kind. More than a legendary singer and songwriter, she was an American icon whose faith, humor, kindness, generosity, and unmistakable personality touched millions of lives.

Her impact went far beyond her music. Through the Imagination Library, she put books into the hands of millions of children and gave them the opportunity to read, learn, and dream.

Dolly never forgot where she came from, and she never stopped giving back.

Rest in peace, Dolly. Thank you for the music, the laughter, the memories, and all the good you brought into this world. ❤️

Everyone deserves the opportunity to get in the game. âšľ

It was a privilege to spend some time at the Rockford Park District’s new Home Base Sports Fields at Lindberg Park and watch these incredible athletes take the field.

For years, the Buddy Baseball and All Stars Baseball programs dreamed of having a permanent home designed for athletes of all abilities. I was proud to help that vision move forward by securing $500,000 in state funding to launch Phase 1 of the project.

Seeing the players, buddies, families and volunteers together was a wonderful reminder of what this project is really about — creating opportunities to play, build friendships and, most importantly, belong.

Congratulations to the Rockford Park District and everyone who helped make Home Base a reality. What a wonderful addition to our community.

Saturday, I had the honor of serving as one of the judges for the Best Barbecue competition at Sycamore’s Ribs, Rhythm & Brews!

Every entry brought something different to the table, and the ribs were truly outstanding — which made judging no easy task.

But when the scores were in, Beach Avenue BBQ came out as the clear winner! I had a chance to visit with their team before the event kicked off, which made it even more enjoyable to congratulate them afterward.

Congratulations to Beach Avenue BBQ, and thank you to everyone who competed and helped make Ribs, Rhythm & Brews such a great community event!
