Today, we had the honor of recognizing one of our own, John Knobloch, Firefighter-EMT and Vice President of Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Co. #1, alongside the United States Secret Service.

John was presented with the Secret Service Life Saving Award in recognition of his actions while serving as a Special Agent with the Secret Service. John’s quick thinking, decisive action, and humanitarian spirit directly resulted in saving another person’s life—an act that changed someone’s life forever.

We are incredibly proud to have John as a member of our department and grateful for the years of service he has given to our country and continues to give to our community.

Thank you, John, for your service, your dedication, and your commitment to helping others. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

In an effort to avoid any misinformation or confusion, the Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Co. would like to provide the following information regarding a current project.

We are currently in the process of acquiring land in the vicinity of our current location. This acquisition is fully funded through our fundraising efforts. Any future construction or building on the property would also be funded through continued fundraising efforts and available grant opportunities.

No fire tax funds are being used for the land acquisition or any future building project.

The fire tax is specifically used for apparatus replacement, fuel, apparatus insurance, and workers’ compensation for our firefighters.

The purpose of acquiring this land is to plan for the long-term future of the fire company and the community we serve. Our fire station was constructed at a time when fire apparatus was significantly smaller and the needs of the fire service were very different. Modern fire apparatus is larger, taller, and requires additional space to safely operate, maintain, and house.

We believe it is important to plan ahead now so that future generations of firefighters have the facilities and resources they need to continue providing the highest level of service to our community.

We understand that projects of this nature may generate questions, and we are committed to keeping our community informed as we move forward. We look forward to providing updates as this process progresses.

Thank you to our residents, supporters, volunteers, and community partners for your continued support. Your support allows us to continue planning for the future while maintaining the equipment and resources necessary to protect our community today.
