June 2025 Blotter
Notable incidents

· LTPD was dispatched to the area of Teak Dr. for a civil issue involving an eviction. LTPD assisted the Northampton County Sherriff’s Office with removing the uncooperative female party from the residence.
· LTPD was dispatched to the area of Wood Dr. for an unwanted guest call. Responding officers made contact with three parties on the property who were not permitted on the property. The parties were identified and one was taken into custody on a warrant out of Lehigh County.
· LTPD received a Childline referral for suspected child s*x abuse. The matter is under investigation
· LTPD was dispatched to the 4600 block of Lehigh Dr. for a physical domestic. Responding officer made contact with the parties involved and received very little cooperation. No assault was able to be proven based on the information gathered.
· LTPD received a walk in complaint regarding harassment by communication and potential extortion by means of Snapchat. The incident is under investigation. ***Be careful who you or your loved ones are communicating with on social media and other communication applications***
· LTPD received a domestic complaint involving terroristic threats. Incident under investigation.
· LTPD was dispatched to the 4800 block of Lehigh Dr. for a domestic issue involving a child custody battle. Responding officers provided both parties with advice on how to proceed civilly and issue was resolved.
· LTPD was dispatched to Hawthorn Dr. for a domestic incident. The actor allegedly trespassed on the caller’s property and pulled down a security camera that was on the corner of the house. The actor agreed to go to the hospital and situation was diffused.
· LTPD was notified of a trespassing issue in the Lehigh Township area of the Walnutport canal. A homeless male was allegedly living in a tent along the canal and refused to leave. The male was uncooperative when asked to leave but eventually did pack up his tent and leave. The male was cited for trespassing.
· LTPD was dispatched back to this location the next day for the same issue with the homeless male. Responding officers made contact with the male and took him into custody for outstanding warrants. The male was issued another citation for trespassing.

· LTPD was dispatched to the area of Pine Dr. for a physical domestic report. Responding officers assessed the situation and subsequently arrested the male actor for simple assault.

As we gear up to celebrate Independence Day, the Lehigh Township Police Department reminds everyone to use fireworks responsibly and legally.

✅ Know and follow all local laws
✅ Never allow children to handle fireworks
✅ Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby
✅ Never relight a "dud" firework
✅ Be mindful of neighbors, pets, and veterans who may be sensitive to loud noises

Full-Time Police Officer - Lehigh Township, Northampton County, PA
The Lehigh Township Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer. Lehigh Township covers 32 square miles with 11,000 residents and is a growing and diverse community located twenty minutes north of Allentown.

We are seeking qualified, motivated, and community-oriented individuals dedicated to serving and protecting the residents of Lehigh Township. Applicants must demonstrate strong integrity, sound judgement, and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a US Citizen and at least 21 years of age
High school diploma or GED
ACT 120 Certification
Any applicant currently in the police academy must successfully complete the academy and pass the MPOETC ACT 120 certification test prior to the projected date of appointment with the Lehigh Township Police Department. Applicants who cannot obtain MPOETC ACT 120 certification by the projected date of appointment with the Lehigh Township Police Department shall be disqualified.
Possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator’s license
Ability to pass an oral interview, and a background investigation which includes a polygraph examination
Must be able to pass both a physical and a psychological examination
Strong communication and report writing skills
Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
Salary and Benefits Include:

After one year of service: $71,269.12
Top rate: $89,086.48 after 5 years
