Next in our Meet the Officer Series is Officer Trevor Lincoln!

Officer Lincoln is originally from Montcalm County, where he received an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Officer Lincoln then graduated from the Grand Valley State University Police Academy in 2021. Officer Lincoln has prior experience in Law Enforcement and Fire Services, serving as a Deputy with the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office for 3 years, and as a Firefighter, with the Sheridan Community Fire Department for 6 years. During his time as a Firefighter, Officer Lincoln was also on the Department’s training committee, and a member of their Rapid Insertion Team (RIT; a specialized search and rescue team). In addition to being a loving husband and father, Officer Lincoln is also a civilian fi****ms and organizational safety instructor, and holds a variety of other public safety related certifications and trainings.

Within the next two weeks, potentially starting this Wednesday 8-5-26, The Village will be working with Saginaw County to Chip and Seal some of our roads. This preventative maintenance will not require closure of streets beyond the actual application of material and thus very minimal disruption to vehicles.

The following streets will be affected; Bentley St, Pearl St, Brady St, Pine St, S Front St, E Liberty St, and Nietling St.

Next in our Meet the Officer Series is Officer Chad Root!

Officer Root is originally from Freeland, MI. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Saginaw Valley State University. Before joining the Chesaning Police Department in 2021 Officer Root had gained several years of experience not only in law enforcement but also in firefighting and as a medical first responder. Officer Root currently serves as the department’s Field Training Officer and Defensive Tactics Instructor.
