🇺🇸 More than cloth, it’s a story of sacrifice, pride, and dreams.

Today, on Flag Day, we honor the American flag and all that it represents, including the courage of those who have served, the freedoms we cherish, and the enduring spirit that unites our nation.

As Old Glory waves above our community, let it remind us of the generations who have helped shape our country and the shared values that continue to guide us forward.

Happy Flag Day from the Town of Chesapeake Beach. 🇺🇸

⚠️Heat Advisory Warning for Today: Friday, June 12⚠️

Please be sure to stay hydrated and check on elderly or disabled neighbors! ☀️💧

Heat, often combined with the high humidity during the summer, can create serious health risks. Older adults, infants and those with certain chronic illnesses, such as asthma, are particularly at risk, especially if air conditioning is not available.

During periods of extreme heat, staying in an air-conditioned area is the most effective way to prevent heat-related illnesses. If air-conditioning is not available, pull the shades over the windows and use cross-ventilation and fans to cools rooms. Cold showers and baths are other effective ways to stay cool.

We recommend our residents seek air conditioned areas to beat the heat. For more information visit www.weather.gov/heat and www.ready.gov/Heat.
