Shipmates:
We are scheduled to meet at the Extra Space Storage located at 2206 Victory Blvd on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
We have downsized us to a 5 X 10 space from a 5 X 15 and will need any pickup trucks that can come, as we need to move the auxiliary chairs to the Scout Cabin as well. Please let me know who can make it.
I have gotten permission to rearrange items in the Scout cabin storage space as well, which will allow us to put the cabinets, including the new one that George has been waiting to build in place.

Shipmates,
We have an opportunity for Fleet Reserve Association public awareness. It will provide us an opportunity to get the word out about the Fleet Reserve Association. Maybe provide some help to veterans with their VA Claims.
Naval Station Norfolk Fleet Fest is a one-day event open to the public on October 19, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Approximate crowd anticipation is 25,000 people.
Displays are authorized to begin setup on the morning of the event from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Gates open to the general public at 10 a.m.
All displays must be taken down by the end of the day on October 19.
RPEC Robert Oliveira is looking to see who would be available to assist with this event. He think we can do this where One Shipmate does not have to be there for the entire time, if we organize.
RPEC Robert Oliveira will be there, and he has asked for some more informational material from FRAHQ to be sent.

Shipmates
On August 23,2024 we loss our oldest Branch 40 shipmate Shipmate Arlin Peeples. He celebrated his 103rd birthday on August 18, 2024.
A celebration of Arlin’s life will be held at Bethlehem Christian Church on Saturday, August 31, 2024 11 AM officiated by Pastor Rob Slingluff. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery officiated by Rev. Don Milner and attended by the Patriot Guard. Following the burial a reception will be held for a time of visitation with the family. If any of you can make it please do. It
would mean alot to his daughter Lynn.
