It is never too early to have a plan about what you will do with your Christmas tree once the holidays are over.
Give your unwanted Christmas trees a new purpose by recycling them at Naval Air Station Oceana - Dam Neck Annex. NAS Oceana will be recycling Christmas trees in order to restore/conserve dune habitat and help protect Military Training grounds.
Trees, free of tinsel, ornaments, and lights may be dropped off at the following designated/marked locations, through 31 January 2021:
Individual and up to 4 Trees Donation Drop-Offs:
· NAS Oceana, BLDG 78, the Natural Resources Center, 800 Oceana Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA
· NAS Oceana - Dam Neck Annex, BLDG 127 off of Regulus Ave., Virginia Beach, VA (southeast corner of the parking lot)
Bulk Tree Donation Drop-Offs (Drop-offs of 5 or more trees at a time):
· Call the Natural Resources Center at 757-433-2151 to schedule a delivery. Drop-off locations vary (may be different than the Individual tree drop-off locations).

Defense Health Agency has directed Military Treatment Facilities and Department of Defense immunization sites to begin offering and administering, for voluntary receipt, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to children 5-11 years of age. This vaccine received an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the Food and Drug Administration on October 29, 2021. Recommendations for its use in the United States have been subsequently provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Please continue to monitor this page for updates.

We would like to give a big Bravo Zulu to the Northwest Annex Navy Exchange (NEX) for winning the 2020 Bingham Award! The award is presented to the best of the best NEXs in nine sales categories for overall financial results and customer service. The Northwest Annex #NEX won in Sales Category 6 ($2.4 million - $4 million) for the third time in a row, which typically does not occur very often for the same store. This has been their eighth win since the award was established in 1990. Great job team!!

ATTENTION Privatized Family Housing Residents: Over the coming year, CNIC will facilitate inspections of privatized family housing units at installations in the United States. Inspectors will assess property conditions and identify issues, helping CNIC and PPV partners make improvements across the portfolio. The change means that occupancy levels in work spaces onboard installations must be less than 40% of their normal capacity, compared with a capacity of less than 25% in HPCON Charlie.

In HPCON Bravo +, social gatherings for unvaccinated personnel are also no longer limited to 10 people. Unvaccinated personnel can also leave their homes for non-essential activities in HPCON Bravo +.
Other restrictions will remain in place. Access to installations by visitors may still be limited and indoor common areas and large venues may still be closed. Gyms may also operate at diminished occupancy.
All service members, civilians, contractors and visitors also must continue wearing masks while indoors on all military installations regardless of vaccination status.

Sailors and command personnel particpated in a base #beautification project on Oct. 7, which consisted of cutting tree limbs and bushes that were blocking the Bethel Cemetery Access Road. Great job everyone!
